Glendale Lions Honor East Hardin Students
The Glendale Lions, at their meeting at Tony York’s on Main on June 2, honored the following students as May East Hardin Middle School Students of the Month.
Sixth grader Joshua Bland enjoys playing the piano and video games, playing with his dogs and playing dinosaurs, reading books and going to church. His favorite subject is science and STEM and he loves all his teachers because they help him. He would like to be a paleontologist later. His accomplishments are Region and State Bible Drill at Gilead Baptist Church and he has been on the A/B honor roll all year. He has also written and published two books. One was “Monster Land” and the second was “Monster Land 2: Attack of the Flying Elves”. He also likes to send Bible verses to his family every morning from his Holy Bible App.
Kylie Martin, an unpictured seventh grader, loves barrel racing on her horse, Koda, and she also likes to read and draw. Her favorite subject is career choice and her favorite teachers are Ms. Cape and Ms. Langoski. She wants to be a farmer in the future as she now lives on a farm with horses, cows, goats, chickens and ducks. She achieved proficient and distinguished scores in math and reading on state tests.
Eighth grade student William Thompson enjoys hunting and playing in the pack. Her favorite subject is math and science and her favorite teacher is Ms. Lee. He would like to be a mechanical engineer one day. He is on the EHMS honor roll.
Each month of the school year, teachers and staff select one student from each class to be honored by the Glendale Lions Club. At the end of a school year, they are entered into a draw for a $100 gift card. At the June Lions meeting, the following names were drawn, sixth grader Jack Melloan, seventh grader Mason Moore, and eighth grader Juliana Stith.
