‘Hamilton’ star issues hilarious ‘absence note’ for Roswell high school student – WSB-TV Channel 2

ROSWELL, GA – A senior at Centennial High School in Roswell has asked a very appropriate celebrity to hand over her “apologized absence” note to her history teacher.

Luke Stevens was staying with friends earlier this week when “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda showed up to surprise her on her birthday.

In a video her mother shared on Instagram, Stevens smiles behind Miranda as the Broadway star explains why Stevens can’t be in class.

“I’m sorry he can’t be in US history class, but he’s with me right now, and we’re going to go over the Bill of Rights and anything else you might cover in it.” moment, ”says Miranda. “This is not wasted time.”


Miranda goes on to explain that “Hamilton” covers much of US history during the two-hour show.

Stevens’ mother said on Instagram that Miranda played the piano and sang songs from her hit musical for Luke’s friend at her home.

It is not known why Miranda was in town, although “Hamilton” is currently playing at the Fox Theater until September 26.
