This summer the European Foundation for the Support of Culture (EUFSC) partners with SAMIT Event Group to present the 10eanniversary edition of its famous InClassica International music festival. For the first time in its history, the festival will be held in the Middle East, with the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai, which has been chosen as the host of this year’s event, which is expected to grow into a true hub of classical music. between August 15eand September 26e.
No less than three classical music events are scheduled during this 43-day period, with the highlight of the event being a classical music festival that will feature 38 soloists from around the world, including a Grammy Award-winning, two-time Gramophone Classical Music Award, Classic Brit Award and 5-time winner of the Edison Classical Music Award, violinist Maxime Vengerov; ECHO Klassik Prize Winner, Salzburg Gold Medalist and Vienna Winner, Pianist Rudolf Buchbinder; Gramophone Instrumental Album of the Year Winner, Critics’ Choice at Classic BRITS and CBE Winner, Cellist Steven Isserlis; Emmy and ECHO Klassik Award, OrphÃ©e d’or, soprano Danielle De Nies; seven-time ECHO Klassik Prize winner violinist Daniel Hope; four times winner of the ECHO Klassik Prize, pianist Fazil says; Grammy Award Winner and Avery Fisher Prize Winner, Violinist Gil shaham; five-time recipient of the Record Academy Prize in Tokyo, three-time recipient of the Echo Deutscher Schallplattenpreis Prize and multiple Grammy nominee, cellist Mischa Maisky; two-time winner of the Opus Klassik Prize and principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic, Andreas Ottensamer; laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, pianist Denis matsuev; Gold medalist of the Fifteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Yekwon Sunwoo; Winner of the 2016 Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition and winner of the âYoung Artist of the Year 2017â award at the Festival of Nations, virtuoso violinist Daniel Lozakovich, and many more.
These will be joined by eight major international orchestras – the Russian national orchestra (Russia), Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (Armenia), Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra(Slovak Republic),Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra(Israel),Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (Malta),Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz(Germany), Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra (Russia) and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra(UK) – who will perform under the baton of a multitude of renowned conductors, with names like Dmitri Iablonski(Israel / USA / Spain), Sergei Smbatyan(Armenia), Felix Korobov(Russia), GergÃ©ly Madaras (Hungary),Mikhail Pletnev(Russia), Marius Stravinsky(UK), Daniel raiskin(Russia / Netherlands), Alexandre shelley(UK), Alexander Sladkovsky(Russia) and Michel Francois(UK / US) have all confirmed their presence on the festival roster.
Dubai is famous Dubai Operaand Coca-Cola Arena will resonate with a selection of hits from some of the most important composers of the classical and romantic tradition, as well as a number of new music creations and works by contemporary composers, including those of the composer in residence Alexey shor.
In addition, in addition to this premier concert series, EUFSC and SAMIT will present the final stage of the Classical Piano International Competition, which marks the grand finale of the â14 Ways to Dubaiâ series of competitions that have taken place around the world over the past two years. In addition, from 4eto 23rdin September, EUFSC and SAMIT will also organize the inaugural edition of the Middle Eastern Academy of Classical Music (MECMA), with several courses in wind, string and piano schools offered to interested students. A range of prominent professors and musicians from around the world will lead these courses, including names like pianist Pavel Gililov (Germany / Austria), violinist Stella chen (United States) and flautist Maxim Rubtsov (Russia), to name a few.
Most importantly, the MECMCA will incorporate a daytime concert program throughout its run, featuring the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra
(Russia) and Armenian State Symphony Orchestra(Armenia) led by a variety of great conductors and accompanying a multitude of international soloists, including the violinist Andrei
Baranov(Russia), violist David-Aaron Charpentier(United States), flautist Jasmine choi(Korea / Austria) and pianist Costanza Principle(Italy), among many others. All Academy students will be able to attend for free, and the most talented of them will even have the opportunity to participate in these concerts, performing alongside some of the most accomplished musicians working today.
